Nissan Juke “Nuke”
Light and nippy this is the smallest of our tour vehicles. Slung low to the ground making embarking and disembarking quite easy. This top of the range Juke offers a quiet comfortable ride, with very sporty performance and is ideal for couples on city tours.
Toyota FJ80 Land Cruiser “Ouma”
This four four passenger vehicle is quite a brute. With plenty of ground clearance and upgraded power plant, there is not much that stops this vehicle. This is our vehicle of choice for small groups that want to go to the most inaccessible places in Namibia. As we were using it for our camping vehicle for many years before starting Awesome Chapters, it is quite rigged for long excursions into the barren land.
It has dual battery systems for ultimate reliability, a small fridge in the passenger compartment for refreshments on the go, a larger fridge in the back for keeping the supplies for serious trips cool, and plenty of luggage space inside. Optionally we can add a roof carrier for even more storage space.
Toyota FJ80 Land Cruiser “Sexy”
This luxury version of the legendary Land Cruiser seats six passengers in comfort. Nice and quiet on the open road, and incredible soft suspension for the bumpy bits, this is a favorite vehicle of ours.
The roof carrier is almost always installed to carry tables and chairs for pick nicks in the desert. With the go-anywhere capability of permanent four wheel drive and a winch installed in the front bumper, this vehicle goes off the beaten track with ease. The passenger seats fold away neatly should we just need it as a carrier of equipment, rather than a people carrier.
Stretched Toyota FJ100 Land Cruiser “White Elephant”
This vehicle has ten full sized passenger seats available, and enough ground clearance to tackle the roughest of roads, and even a few off-road places are in reach. With big windows on the side for great views of the landscape, this is the vehicle of choice if you have a large group of friends or just want the extra space.
Conqueror Commander Caravan
Our kitchen sink. This caravan not only has a sizable fridge, it also has warm water and a stove. With plenty of storage space even when folded up, we carry tents and stretchers for up to ten people on camping trips. (5 tents, 10 stretchers) Pots, pans, tables, chairs and anything you might need on a camping trip. It has built in solar panels and a dual battery system to keep the lights on at night.
Pictured here at Illofa Clan campsites, we use it for family trips in Namibia as well. With it’s off-road suspension and one of our powerful cruisers pulling it, there are not many places that this rig cannot go. Ideal for very, very remote tours.
