Our longer tours are what makes us Awesome! We do completely private, custom and exclusive tours. This is where we can show you the diamond that is Namibia, and add an awesome chapter to your book of life!

Because we tailor each tour to your tastes, there is no set itinerary that you can just pick off a list. This way around is a bit more work, but well worth it for you. The picture here is of the Fish river Canyon, the largest in Africa

As Awesome Chapters produces videos as well, you have the amazing opportunity of having a video made for you of your tour, custom to your liking! So, what does it look like? Here is an example of a tour to Sossusvlei:

The process

The process works somewhat like this: You write us an email, just to make initial contact, describing the longer tours that you want. Some helpful information at this point is:

• Your Name, Country of origin and Nationality.
• When do you plan on visiting Namibia?
• How long will your stay be?
• How many people in your group?
• Any food preferences that we need to know about?
• Any medical conditions or allergies?
• What is it that you want to do in Namibia?

That last item on the list can be quite vague. Options include, but are not limited to: Camping, Fishing, Hiking, Biking, Tour, Safari, Holiday, Exploring, Seeing the popular sites, Seeing places where you feel like you are the first person there, Sand Dunes, Desert, Rocks, Mountains, Animals, One Specific Animal, Photography, whatever you are into! This will give us some guidance on which bits of Namibia might be a good fit for you.

We will then make some recommendations, you tell us which of the recommendations you liked, and we repeat this process until you are completely happy. This process sounds a bit more involved than just picking a tour off of a brochure, and it is. There are some real benefits, though.

About Namibia

As Namibia is a popular tourist destination, bookings for accommodation needs to be made months in advance. This goes even for campsites, the best places can be really hard to book last-minute, so don’t delay the start of the process. Many people booking their own longer tours are sadly disappointed when they learn about this the hard way on their tour. As your accommodation is pre-booked & paid for this is a worry that you avoid, letting you have more time to have happy thoughts on how much of a wonderful country Namibia and it’s people are.

The Quote

After a few emails back and forth to fine tune the tour, we will then provide you with a quote. This quote will include an up-front amount, needed to pay for the bookings and needs to be paid upon acceptance of quote. Should you cancel this tour, we can probably recover some of that money for you, but each lodging has different rules on cancellations.

The balance of the quote needs to be paid before you arrive, as this is needed for fuel and driver’s pay, etc.

Our resources

Our Tour vehicle on short and longer tours is a super-reliable Toyota Land Cruiser FJ80, which is fully equipped for Namibia. It has two fridges, loads of packing space, long distance radio and four open seats. Toolbox, medical emergency gear, vehicle recovery gear are all included, too. For larger groups we rent extra vehicles, and optionally a driver, should none of the group feel like driving.
