About Us!

Awesome Chapters is based in Walvis Bay. Walvis Bay is situated in a peculiar area, with the mixture of sandy deserts, gravel plains and the cold Atlantic ocean making for some rugged nature. There is something otherworldly about the nature of Namibia in general. Day tours and camping tours start in Walvis Bay, but transfers are available if needed.

The owners have gone to school in Walvis Bay when it was still a South African territory, before being handed over to Namibia in 1993. Growing up in this town afforded great opportunities to explore the surroundings and be close to nature, and sharing this with you is a great honor.

Being the outdoorsy type, the owners spent many days and nights in the desert, taking in all this gorgeous nature. In 2018, Awesome Chapters was founded to share the love of Namibia with the rest of the world. And what a country it is!

Awesome Chapters is a microscopic company, with the owners being the guides and drivers of the vehicles, sometimes using the services of close friends as drivers or guides when needed. The small size is used as an advantage, as there are simply no internal policies and rules and regulations blocking requests. If it’s legal, and to everyone’s benefit, we will look into it to see if it can be done!

With plenty of experience in the entertainment industry, Awesome Chapters offers a singular experience, tuned to the creative types of the world. It is about getting the best pictures, and leaving you with only fond memories of a spectacular place & time. An Awesome Chapter in your book of life.

Our Fleet

Pictures and descriptions of the vehicles we use for your tours. We are quite proud of the equipment that we offer, and are happy to show them off to the world. You might notice that the off road vehicles are classics. The reason for this is that the roads and conditions can be pretty tough. The older vehicles have still been built with a rugged intent that simply is not available anymore.

The vehicles are very well maintained, and super reliable. There is something about classic Land Cruisers that does add a little extra to the tour. The feeling that you are on an adventure! Air conditioning works, as does everything else on the vehicles.

The Nissan Juke is available for town trips, and have served well in a chaperoning role in the past. It is also well suited to couples’ town tours as it is low slung and nippy. Just what one needs for a town car, right?

Registrations

Awesome Chapters is all about playing by the rules, and we pride ourselves on an impeccable record in this regard. In the registrations area you can see scans of the various registrations we need to operate in our sector. Everything from insurance for the passengers to radio licenses and more.

The governing body for the tourism sector in Namibia is the Namibia Tourism Board. (NTB) It is important that you check with your operator that all the registrations are in place and up to date. Unfortunately there is a lot of people in Namibia that are taking chances with tourists. As having a good experience in Namibia is what Awesome Chapters is about, you need to watch out for these unauthorized operators.

The Namibia Film Commission (NFC) governs the entertainment industry. Awesome Chapters straddles the two industries as there is a lot of overlap in the equipment needed to provide services for both, and working in the entertainment industry is fun.
