Tourism Impact

This worldwide phenomenon certainly has changed the tourism landscape for many. Practically overnight the borders have slammed shut, and everybody with sense is staying at home. If you play along and the worldwide community gets this thing under control, we can all go back to having all the nice things. Nice things like awesome holidays in beautiful countries, without worrying about getting sick.

Following the News

As tourism operators in Namibia we are following the news quite closely, of course. So far, Namibia has been mostly spared, as far as anyone can tell. Whether this is due to the early decisive action of our esteemed leaders, or just plain luck, will be debated for some time to come.

Tourism benefits of Namibia

What is quite clear, though, is that Namibia is a very safe destination. It always enjoyed a low crime rate, especially once you leave the cities behind. Water is drinkable and food is good and cheap. English is spoken nearly everywhere, and for the most part Namibia is cashless with VISA and Mastercard working even in the most rural communities. It truly is Africa for beginners.

What to do?

Hang in there! This time is being used to spit and polish web sites and do preventative maintenance everywhere, so you will have an even better experience in Namibia when you can finally make it here. There is even a German language course that is seeing some action now, so as to provide a better service for Germans with a poor English wanting to come visit.

Looking forward

Do your research now, and fix prices with the operators in the country. Confirmed bookings will go a long way in convincing the banks to keep things going for us while the borders are closed. Have a look at the little tours on offer from our side. If you have any questions or comments, or areas that you think we can improve, please let us know! Everybody will benefit from that.

If you are thinking about a longer tour in Namibia, contact us. You will be impressed by just how helpful we can be. There is so much to do and see in Namibia!
