Awesome Roads to Plod along in 2020

COVID-19 update

The disease is now well and truly loose in Walvis Bay, and with more than 1000 cases, most of which is from Walvis Bay the government has it’s hands full trying to contain it. Which of the many roads will we have to take?

We have had 3 deaths so far, all with previous complicating circumstances. More worryingly, there are some cases reported from the North and the South, so it has escaped.

The lock down is still in place between the Erongo region and the rest of the country, and is stifling trade and industry separately from the tourists not being in the country.

Keeping myself busy and sane

The daily pictures on Facebook helps a little, and as usual you have a copy of them on this post. This time it featured roads and Rostock Ritz.

We were doing an inventory of our friend and suspected hoarder of very interesting stuff during the week, while he was getting ready to fly out of the country. All his stuff is in a house that is otherwise empty. The journey of discovery is quite amazing, with loads and loads of film stuff stuffed in every nook and cranny.

Otherwise I am still messing with Vega Strike. It’s written in Python and C++, and actually quite enjoyable to play with. I have been sorting the naming of units issue. By hook or by crook at the moment, but as I learn Python and C++ the fixes are becoming more elegant.

After a month of solid play time, which came after years of neglect, and a few initial months of playtime in around 2010, I finally discovered that the game has a navigation computer built in.

It does not work well, but it is there non the less, and now that will be my next project once I get this naming of extra bases out of the way. I really want to make it a configuration option as well, as I actually like the Vega Strike universe with less bases, like it was designed. The extra bases definitely has a bolted on feel.

There you have it, Week 29 of 2020. How time flies. Enjoy the images!
