As you may know, Etosha is a great tourist magnet, with awesome wild animals and great photo subject matter.
Recently I had the luck to act as a driver on one of SafariWise’s tours. We were four vehicles and twelve guests, and spent five days in Etosha, getting some of the best photos of wild animals that you can imagine.
The tour itself was a photographic tour and covered quite a bit of Namibia. I was only required for the Etosha bit, and jumped at the opportunity. Not only because Etosha is amazing, but because I learn something new every time I visit.
I have uploaded a small selection of my photos into a photo gallery called Etosha. The guys were nice enough to allow us to use our own cameras on the tour, so I brought along “Precious”, our Canon 5D Mk III, and two nice lenses. For most of the trip, the Canon USM IS II 100-400mm was on the camera, and I was wishing for more zoom quite a few times on the trip. 🙂
The array of wildlife in Etosha is amazing! We saw most of the species of antelope and predators, and a few of the bird species as well. This particular year it was very dry in Etosha, as we are in a drought that has been lasting for a number of years already.
